Mentoring Groups

Mentoring programs enrich children's lives, help meet their need for positive adult contact, and provide one-on-one support and advocacy. Most notably, positive mentoring experiences have proven to be an effective tool to help youth overcome the risk factors that can lead to problems such as educational failure, dropping out of school, teen pregnancy, self-esteem difficulties, and involvement in delinquent activities, including gang crime and drug abuse.

Research has shown great success in peer to peer mentoring. We use this approach once girls have successfully completed one year in their program and  have been identified as a model Diva. 

The mentoring programs are open to ALL GIRLS regardless of race or socio-economic background. Participation in the program requires parent orientation, Divas Inc. annual membership of $50 and monthly dues of $40.

We accept applications for membership twice a year, based on space availability.
