DIVAS Group Mentoring Programs™ are long term, group mentoring and leadHERship development programs. The programs are offered to girls between the ages of 9-18 and have two distinct levels based upon age and grade.
The DIVAS groups are geared towards girls ages 9-18 and offer monthly educational and entertaining activities. The DIVAS membership includes monthly activities for members including:
- Small group discussions
- Creative & introspective exercises
- Physical activities
- Youth driven community service projects
- Guest speakers
- Field-trips
- Special Events
The DIVAS group is geared towards girls aged 9-13
The DIVAS sisterhood group is geared towards girls aged 14-18
The interactive, small groups format were created to educate, engage, and empowHER girls ages 9-18. The programs are designed to empower and cultivate leadHERship and self-esteem while equipping girls with the tools to make healthy decisions about their bodies, relationships, academics, and their futures.
Upon a year of completion girls are eligible to apply for the peer mentor program where they mentor the group below them. For example DIVAS mentor the Pretty Pretty Princesses and DIVAS sisterhoods are able to mentor DIVAS. Research has shown great success in peer to peer mentoring. We use this approach once girls have successfully completed one year in their program and have been identified as a model Diva.
The mentoring programs are open to ALL GIRLS regardless of race or socio-economic background. Participation in the Divas program requires parent orientation, Divas Inc. annual membership of $30 and monthly dues of $10.
Each group meets twice per month for 1-2 hours at a centralized location during the calendar year. Program curriculum and activities focus on self-image, leadHERship, health, finances, healthy relationships, and enrichment. This program is designed to empower young girls and build lasting relationships and long-term results.
We accept applications for membership twice a year, based upon availability.
